Manchester Chamber of Commerce gets new head
WENDY FRECKLETON was on Wednesday elected president of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce (MCOC).
Freckleton replaced Keith Smith, who was elected first vice-president. She brings to the MCOC a wealth of knowledge in organisational planning and business management, which members feel will help the organisation move forward.
Her long association with the MCOC dates back to the 1990s. She was the director responsible for special projects during the chamber's last administrative year.
Freckleton is the managing director of Mandeville Weekly, a community newspaper.
She joins Jean Anderson, of Global Travel Service, as the only two women who have headed the MCOC. She was elected to the presidency at the MCOC's annual general meeting, held at Golf View Hotel.
