The sex business

Lately, there have been numerous scandals and exposures of perverse sexual activities among political and business officials, even among entertainers and sports personnel. Sadly, this is a million dollar business, particularly for the various media houses and marketing groups. Almost every product advertised today carries sexual content and as they say in the business 'sex sells'!

What we are dealing with is not easy! Perversion is a spirit, and it is not easy to deal with. Oftentimes, we hear of those persons involved in the scandals being sent to 'rehab' and therapy; but this is not the answer. In fact, 'rehab' is part of the problem!

When someone falls or is exposed, people should not be quick to ask them to resign. All highly influential people are targets for perversion because there are persons who are poised to make money when they fall. There are tabloids and books to be sold, and TV ratings to go up so that money can be made. Even the movie industry has been thriving for years from the downfall of such persons.

The greatest loss as a result of this, however, is suffered by the family. Interestingly, although these industries are raking in the funds, the economy suffers.

When David fell with Bathsheba, the entire nation suffered. It also opened the door to murder death and conspiracy. It ruined his administration and Israel's economy. He recognised the connection between sexual sins and lineage, (Psalm 51: 5) as well as the fact that a soul tie had been created between himself and Bathsheba.

The Root Of Sexual Perversion

Sexual perversion is as a result of sin and travels from one generation to the next through the lineage.

Soul ties can come through past relationships, the effects of which transfer to future relationships. For example, although two persons may be physically divorced, there is still a spiritual and soul connection or soul tie that needs to be broken before either persons can successfully move on.

Soul ties can even develop between individuals based on the length of time they spend with each other - at the office or on the phone or computer talking to each other.

In addition to this, erotic pop-ups, photographs and pornography are doors to sexual perversion. So what is seen with the natural eyes connect to the soul and so both men and women are sucked into the clutches of its consequences.

People who act in plays, movies and other dramatic presentations are also at risk, because they take on the personalities of the characters they play in the daily life - oftentimes without even realising it.

Solutions

We must first recognise that temptations cannot be dealt with on our own strength; we must pray daily and ask the Lord to deliver us from temptation. Hence, Matthew 6: 13, "... lead us not into temptation ...". Husbands and wives must pray for each other daily that they remain attracted to each other and every external distraction be broken. Once one partner begins to lose interest in the other, and begin to resent or dislike the other partner and lose interest, it's time to get counseling!

Go on a three-day Isaiah 58 fast. Before doing so, ensure that you consult your medical practitioner to ensure that you are okay to do so. During the fast read Psalm 51 seven times daily.

Never give up on the investment God has given you in the form of your marriage! Fight for your marriage and seek counseling from persons with integrity.

It must be a criterion for all public figures to maintain a wholesome, positive family life, and this must also be a part of their evaluation.

There must be a house cleaning. For example, old pictures of past lovers, gifts from old girlfriends/boyfriends, and the 'little black book' need to be removed from your home and your life! Old numbers need to be deleted because you now have the right one in your life!

Remember, when problems arise, seek God's advice before seeking legal advice!
