Known for its creative and innovative events, Red Stripe, led by its flagship brand, will be combining music and brew for an unforgettable three days of entertainment.
Set for May 22 to 24 at the newly refurbished Barbican Beach Bar and Grill, Red Stripe and its variants: Heineken, Talawah, Guinness, Dragon, Malta and Smirnoff Ice, the festival will give patrons an opportunity to sample new products.
The festival will also serve an educational purpose by providing patrons with valuable information on the importance of returning bottles and the environmental impact of reducing waste.
According to Levaughn Flynn, communications manager at Diageo, it is important to protect the environment.
"One simple way is encouraging persons to return their empty bottles to our offices at 214 Spanish Town Road. We still buy empties at $10 per bottle and $50 for the new one-litre bottles. All that money can come in handy if you have a lot of bottles at home," said Flynn.
Daniela McLean, sponsorship executive at Digicel, told the audience that Red Stripe was the home of the coolest beer.
"Red Stripe has been that necessary element with family and friends that has resulted in memorable moments for many events. The festival is a happy marriage of reggae music and beer," she said.
Consumers can experience the Red Stripe Beer Festival for only $500 on the Friday and Saturday, which gives each patron product samples. The Thursday event will be free of cost.
The festival will feature live performances by No-Maddz, Kabaka Pyramid, Mystical Revolution and others.
The event is sponsored by Digicel, Pepsi, CB Chicken and Rainforest Seafood.
