The Gleaner Group records slight revenue increase

The Gleaner Group reported a one per cent increase in revenue at a meeting with its investors’ at The Company’s North Street Offices on Monday.



Investors, who attended, were interested in its revenue model, the performance of its overseas operations, the sale of Sangster’s Book Stores Limited and plans to earn more from the online operations.



Christopher Barnes, Deputy Managing Director also reported that the company’s overseas operations had improved with the North American operations posting a healthy profit and the UK operations breaking even.



He noted however that the company was still working to improve and thanked management, staff, advertisers, investors and everyone who played a role in the company’s operations.



He also reported a number of company achievements, including winning many awards for advertising and journalism. Barnes also reported that THE STAR readership continues to grow and that The Sunday Gleaner remains the number one publication with readership almost three times that of its competitor.
