The world's first red-centered apple has gone on sale in the UK.
Named the Redlove, the red-skinned apple continues with a pink flesh running through it.
Tom Sharples, spokesperson for seed and sapling company Suttons, said: "This is the very first red-fleshed, fine tasting apple in the world.
"It has a delicious sweet, tangy taste with a hunt of berries to it if eaten raw and is also ideal for cooking.
"It obviously has a huge novelty factor to it because it looks so striking but there are serious health benefits too as there are higher levels of antioxidants in the colour pigments."
The grower has spent 20 years trying to perfect the fruit.
