Dominican Republic President in Jamaica for State Visit
President of the Dominican Republic Danilo Medina Sanchez has arrived in Jamaica for a one-day State Visit and was met at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston by the Governor General Sir Patrick Allen and Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
He was also greeted with a 21-gun salute during the brief but beautifully choreographed welcome that also included several members of the Government as well as President of the Senate, Tom Tavares-Finson; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Pearnel Charles; and the Chief Justice, Zaila McCalla.
MP Lisa Hanna represented Opposition Leader Dr Peter Phillips.
Medina Sanchez will this afternoon be conferred with a national honour during a ceremony at King's House.
He and his team are expected to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Holness and other Government leaders.
Medina Sanchez will depart tomorrow.
