Doll producers Island Dolls Plus Collections dedicated their 2020 collection to Democratic vice-presidential candidate, Senator Kamala Harris. Island Dolls Chief Executive Officer Beverley Robotham-Reynolds says the new line of dolls aim to honour Harris’ rich ancestry and achievements. “[We] hope to motivate young girls to be proud of their black heritage, and to let them know that they can be anything they want to be, no matter where they are from or their upbringing,” shared Robotham-Reynolds. Work on the dolls began when Harris was a candidate in the Democratic Party presidential primaries and ended ahead of today’s election. Something Extra gives you a look at the collection.
