Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica Chen Daojiang (third right) recently presented scholarships to eight students studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programmes at Northern Caribbean University (NCU). He noted that the Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship is in its sixth year and has facilitated more than 30 students with excellent academic performance to complete their studies and realise their dreams. Thus, sowing more seeds of hope for the long-standing friendship between China and Jamaica. Carolyn Smith (fourth left), NCU vice-president for student services, is delighted about the presentation which took place at the Mandeville Campus on January 23. The scholarship recipients are (from left): Daniel Folkes, Nathan-Ray Folkes, Kimani Roache, Geovani Clarke, Moesha Johnson, Christina Ferguson, Mackalla McFarlane and Sangenia Pinnock (absent).
