Nateessia Braham saw Kenrick Morgan for the first time during Sunday school at the Elim Open Bible Church. And, although she found him to be annoying at first, a friendship formed and flourished between them. The pair developed a bond so beautiful that it became a testament of infinite love. On the first Sunday of May, at the East Lawns of Devon House, they made it official and became Mr and Mrs Morgan.

“I knew him as the little annoying and loud boy at church. One day in September, I glanced at him and something changed. I just knew that he was special. That night, I had a dream about him and then I just knew. I don’t know what happened. Something just changed when we turned teenagers,” Nateessia told Island Wedding.

In Kenrick’s defence, his annoyance served a positive purpose, for it was centred around how smitten he was by Nateessia’s beauty. “I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen,” he recounted. It wasn’t until after he met and got to know her better that he received an all-access backstage pass into the intricacy and complexity of her mind and the depth of her sweet soul.

Strolling down memory lane, Nateessia remembered having a great time on their first date. “We went to the now closed Cuddyz, which was located in New Kingston. This was our first outing alone as we normally went on group dates. It was a bit freeing. We could just talk and get to know each other on a deeper level.”

Kenrick couldn’t exactly remember all the details of the date, “…but I do remember seeing Amari and the late Gully Bop arguing at the end of the night and how much we laughed about it as we made our way home.”

As the years have gone on, Nateessia has continued to admire how supportive, loving, thoughtful, and authentic her soulmate is, “He has helped me with my self-esteem. He has also made me feel worthy of love and has shown me genuine affection.”

For Kenrick, he continues to be fascinated by his twin flame’s humorous, kind, passionate and loving nature, “She has always motivated me to be my best and do my best. She always pushes me to be different and be elevated to a higher calling.”

When it comes to rekindling romance, the happy couple enjoys trying new restaurants, attending food festivals, watching Marvel movies, and having good conversations at home.

One day, Kenrick was faced with a difficult decision to make, and just when he thought there was no easy way out, his partner in love amazed him by calling on a higher power to intervene and shine a guiding light.

“She prayed for me. And it just blew my mind that someone would go to the Lord for me in prayer. It was at that moment I knew she was the one,” he explained.

After 15 years of courtship, he asked the love of his life to be his wife. Having kept the engagement ring for almost a year, Kenrick waited and planned, looking for the right moment to pop the question.

“Her biggest thing is that she wanted it to be a surprise. So, one day when she went to work and I was home, I decided ‘today is the day’. I ran to get some flower petals and candles. I also spoke to her parents that day, in the rush of it all. When I got to her home, I decorated the designated area, lit the candles and waited for her return. Once she came in and saw everything, she was so surprised,” he revealed. Nateessia, who reminisced on the intimate, beautiful and thoughtful moment, was happy to say yes.

With the help of Jesus and ChatGPT, the engaged couple planned their own wedding. Admitting it was a stressful process, they shared that as a duo, they were able to pivot and make the right choices for the big day.

Speaking of choices, the bride-to-be explained that finding the ideal plus-sized bridal dress was difficult, so she went the customised route and said yes to an A-line ball gown with lace and appliqué details from Dacaubi Designs.

On May 4, specially invited guests gathered to witness the matrimonial union of Kenrick and Nateessia Morgan. The handsome groom watched in awe as his beautiful bride walked towards him, “The wedding was amazing,” he said, adding, “We both like nice things and we made an active effort to do something that we would remember for years to come. It was everything we hoped for.”

For his wife, the day was magical, describing the wedding as divinely orchestrated. “The forecast predicted rain for that whole weekend. And it rained on Friday and Saturday. But we had prayed for good weather and we got just that. Our wedding was an event filled with faith, laughter and love,” Mrs Braham-Morgan added.
