Humour in these times

THE EDITOR, Madam:
Humour exists in the rough times. Creative individuals have made social distancing with serious body language codes attractive and endearing. The king of the jungle knows just how to cheer you up, even across a wide football field. A hand signal could put a smile on your face and cause a burst of laughter! What will make you come closer? Only time will tell … .
You are still a royal guest and served with hospitality. Although face-to-face interaction is not as ‘permissible’, across-the-way glances, standing tall, are cute cues. Social distancing and isolation are the ‘new kids on the block’ cards in the deck of ‘hide and seek’ in both professional and personal relationships of all kinds.
We are all enjoying the various split screens on televisions and other media. Ironically, we are entering the homes of celebrities, whose decor is very similar to what is in our own homes. These nuances keep us closer.
We do say a great deal with our eyes. As always, a ‘friend’ in need is a friend indeed.
