NSWMA kicks off e-waste collection project tomorrow
Starting tomorrow, the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) will begin collecting electronic waste or e-waste as part of a six-month pilot project.
Mobile phones, CPUs, printers, monitors, laptops, keyboards, mouse and chargers are some of the e-waste that will be collected.
The NSWMA says the e-waste pilot project will target the communities of Duhaney Park, Patrick City and Harbour View in Kingston and St Andrew along with Hellshire, Angels Phase 1 and 2 and Angels Grove in St Catherine.
It says residents in Angels Phase 1 and 2, Angel Grove and Hellshire will have their e-waste collected by a special team starting at 7 o’clock tomorrow morning.
The NSWMA is appealing to residents to ensure that their e-waste is separated from other household wastes.
