The police are reporting that the two American missionaries killed in St Mary were both shot.

In a statement released a short while ago, the police said Randy Hentzel died of a gunshot wound while Harold Nichols had a gunshot and chop wounds.

The police did not reveal any further detail on the matter.

However, they said detectives are currently attending a case conference at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Branch to assess all the evidence gathered so far.

The two missionaries were killed in Albion Mountain, St Mary on Saturday, April 30.

The police say they have been in touch with officials from the American Embassy and will update them on the outcomes of the case conference with a view to having American investigators partner with Jamaican law enforcement to solve this case and arrest the killer or killers in the shortest possible time.
