Second man arrested in connection with murder of Mandeville businessman
A second man has been arrested in connection with the robbery and murder of 76-year-old Manchester businessman Trevor Meikle.
The man, accompanied by his lawyer surrendered to the Major Organised Crime and Anti- Corruption Agency (MOCA) yesterday.
He was later turned over to the Manchester police and is currently awaiting an identification parade.
The police say detectives from the St Andrew North police are also interested in the suspect.
Another man who was taken into custody in relation to the incident is expected to be interviewed in the presence of his attorney today and face an ID parade by the end of the week.
A St Mary woman, said to be the girlfriend of one of the men has been charged with receiving stolen property after she was held with phone belonging to Meikle.
Police sources say she has been cooperating with investigators.
She appeared before the Mandeville Resident Magistrate’s Court today and was offered bail in the sum of $300,000.
