Warmington insists constituency boundaries report not properly tabled
St Catherine South West MP Everald Warmington on Tuesday brought a halt to a parliamentary meeting after insisting that the committee couldn't examine a report because it wasn't properly tabled.
The Constituency Boundaries Committee was meeting to review the Realignment of Boundaries report for the St Andrew North Eastern and Trelawny Southern constituencies which both have voting populations below the legal limit.
However, Warmington insisted that the report which was prepared by the Electoral Commission of Jamaica was not signed by the Parliament and was therefore unfit to be reviewed by a parliamentary committee.
Warmington later gained support from Committee members, Fitz Jackson and Peter Bunting regarding the tabling of the ECJ report.
The Constituency Boundaries Committee meeting was then adjourned for the report be properly tabled in Parliament before it can be reviewed by the parliamentary committee.
