"I want to thank all Jamaica and our great people for the outpouring of well wishes and love."
Mahfood also said he was thankful that there were no injuries.
Earlier, Francois Chalifour, Wisynco’s director of marketing told Maurice Foster on Power 106FM that the fire was under control after four hours of fierce fighting by fire-fighters.
He said the fire was restricted to the warehouse which is 260,000 square feet.
Chalifour says the company will have interruptions but will remain in contact with customers and employees.
In the meantime, Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the Government will continue to monitor the situation.
