Myrie case - much ado about nothing

Published: Friday | March 8, 2013 Comments 0

THE EDITOR, Sir:

What do we hope to achieve from the shenanigan called the Shanique Myrie case? If the people of Barbados or any other Caribbean nation doesn't want us in their country, fine! Barbados' size and economy, collectively, is insignificant to be making all this hullabaloo.

All we have to do is not go there. There is a wide open world otherwise. Our benefit from countries such as Barbados is zero, so I don't know why our Government is forcing this issue.

This will only create more acrimony among us than what existed already. Let's coalesce with others closer to us and move on.

There are more important issues to tend to, such as what will happen to the PetroCaribe arrangement after Chávez.
