Tessanne's journey on The Voice

For the past 12 weeks, Jamaican Tessanne Chin has been thrilling the live and TV audiences watching the American Talent Show, The Voice. Here's a recap of her journey.



1) SEPTEMBER 24, 2013: (Blind Audition) Tessanne’s blind audition airs on The Voice. All four judges pleaded with Tessanne to join their team after her rendition of Pink’s Try. She ultimately chooses team Adam Levine.

COACH ADAM LEVINE: “I think we are all very desperate to have you. There is so much passion and so much heart. You are a powerhouse, unbelievably talented artiste.”



2) OCTOBER 14, 2013: (Battle Rounds) Tessanne battles it out with Donna Allen for a spot in the Knockout round. Adam Levine chooses her as the winner after her performance of Next To Me

COACH ADAM: "You both know how I feel about you. Tess, you make everything so effortless. Donna, you were pretty astonishing."







3) OCTOBER 28, 2013 (Knockout Round): Tessanne ‘knocks out’ fellow competitor Ashley DuBose out of the competition after a flawless cover of Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You). She then advances to the live rounds.

COACH CHRISTINA AGUILERA: “Tessanne, you made it sound so easy and then you took it to another level".



4) NOVEMBER 4, 2013 (Live Playoffs): Tessanne belts out her soul to the timeless classic of Jimmy Cliff’s Many Rivers To Cross which brought the audience to its feet. She advances to the Top 12.

COACH ADAM: “You have such a golden soul and you are a wonderful human being. Your talent is mind boggling. In my opinion, it does not get better than this."







5) NOVEMBER 11, 2013 (Live Top 12): Tessanne blows away the competition with a powerful performance of My Kind Of Love by Emeli Sande which she dedicated to her husband, Michael Cuffe. She is rewarded with a spot in the top ten.

COACH ADAM: "Every single time that you get up there you sing in a way that is emotional and flawless. Every time you sing, my mind is blown. I am just enjoying listening to you and watching you grow.”



6) NOVEMBER 18, 2013 (Top 10): Tessanne delivers an emotional cover of Gladys Knight’s If I Were Your Woman. The fastest man alive, Usain Bolt also made an appearance on the show.

Tessanne advances to the top eight.

"OMG, just died!!! Usain Bolt I am speechless!!! Thank you!!" Chin tweeted.

7) NOVEMBER 25, 2013 (Top 8): The powerhouse vocalist connected with her reggae roots and gave an electric performance of Underneath it All by No Doubt featuring Lady Saw. Tessanne advances to the top six.



8) DECEMBER 2, 2013 (Top 6): Fans got a two for one special as Tessanne stole the show with tear-jerking renditions of Redemption Song by Bob Marley and Unconditionally by Katy Perry.

COACH BLAKE SHELTON: "You are a world class vocalist. You can sing with the best vocalists on earth ... We haven't seen anyone quite like you on the show.”



9) DECEMBER 9, 2013 (Top 5/Semifinals): Tessanne leaves the competition behind with a stunning performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water. After singing the classic ballad, the song went straight to the top of the iTunes chart, helping to secure her a place in the finals.

COACH BLAKE: "Tessanne is my pick to win and for no other reason than I have eyes, and I can look at iTunes and see what happened.”.



10) DECEMBER 16, 2013 (Finals:) Tessanne will perform Whitney Houston’s I have Nothing, Try by Pink, and a duet with coach Adam Levine, Let it Be by the Beatles.
