The year 2025 has been another milestone one for diamond-selling reggae artiste, Shaggy. In recent months, the entertainer, who is managed by Martin Kierszenbaum/Cherrytree Music Company, fronted Peugeot’s 3008 global campaign, co-curated and headlined the One Fine Day Festival with Sting in Philadelphia and joined Fiat to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his diamond-selling hit Boombastic, with a new version of the song featured in a campaign directed by Joseph Kahn.

And, speaking of new songs, Shaggy just released a new single, Boom Body, featuring Akon and Aidonia, through a partnership between VP Records and his own Ranch Entertainment. Co-produced by Shaggy and Costantine ‘Costi Fortzaa’ Ionita, the new dancehall banger fuses island heat with global pop appeal and is available now on all major streaming platforms.

Boom Body reunites Shaggy with Akon and Aidonia, both of whom he has worked with previously on separate projects. This new single blends Shaggy’s signature charisma, Akon’s smooth vocals, and Aidonia’s razor-sharp dancehall delivery. With the unmistakable pulse of a Shaggy record, Boom Body shows how he still bridges genres and generations with effortless groove.

The music video for Boom Body was filmed in Miami and Kingston, and directed by Sam Brave, Mid Jordan and Jay Will.

Boom Body is now available worldwide on all major streaming platforms, and marks Shaggy’s third single this year under the VP and Ranch Entertainment partnership.

Also, as recently announced, Shaggy will perform a mashup of his most iconic hits at the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, set to broadcast on NBC & Peacock on November 27.

“It’s official, I will be performing in the Macy’s 99th Thanksgiving Day Parade. It’s been a dream of mine, and, I tell you what, it’s extra special this time because I get to rep my country, Jamaica, especially in our hard times we’re going through right now. My heart goes out to everybody affected by this hurricane; it’s just been rough. We’re gonna be there on Thanksgiving morning rocking some dancehall, some reggae music, bringing a vibe and repping the culture.”

Shaggy is set to perform on the Jennie-O Big Turkey Spectacular float. Other performers include Luísa Sonza, Foreigner, Debbie Gibson, Kool & the Gang, Busta Rhymes, Darlene Love, Colbie Caillat, Gavin DeGraw, Jewel, the Rockettes, Broadway casts, Debbie Gibson, Lil Jon, Ciara, Foreigner, Taylor Momsen and Teyana Taylor.

Macy’s 99th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade starts at 8:30 a.m. on West 77th Street and Central Park West and ends at Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square on 34th Street at noon. It will feature 34 balloon, 29 floats, 11 marching bands, 33 clown crews, nine performance groups and more. Audiences can watch the official telecast on NBC and Peacock.
