The talented young performers of St Andrew High School (SAHS) for Girls will take centre stage on Sunday, November 15, as the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA), in tandem with the SAHS Dance Troupe, presents ‘United in Motion: Dance Xplosion 2026’, an evening dedicated to celebrating student talent, artistic expression, and the power of young women to make a meaningful contribution to their school community.
The event will be held at the school’s Garden Theatre located at the Hope Road entrance, starting at 6 p.m.
“More than a showcase of choreography and performance, Dance Xplosion 2026 will provide a platform for the girls to demonstrate the skills, dedication and creativity they have developed through dance,” a press release stated. From the discipline required in rehearsals to the confidence displayed on stage, the production reflects the commitment of students who continue to explore their potential beyond the traditional classroom experience.
Under the theme, ‘United in Motion’, the production will bring together the energy and artistic abilities of the young dancers in a celebration of teamwork, perseverance and the value of pursuing excellence.
The event also represents an opportunity for the performers to demonstrate how student participation in the arts can help shape a vibrant school culture. Through their involvement in dance, the girls are actively contributing to the continued transformation of St Andrew High School for Girls by strengthening school spirit, inspiring their peers, showcasing student achievement and helping to create an environment in which diverse talents can flourish.
Artistic director of the SAHS Dance Troupe, Lauri-Ann Richards, said the production represents the girls’ commitment to using their talents to make a positive impact.
“Dance Xplosion is a time to celebrate not only our success and achievements this year but also our bond and great display of a sisterhood in our own space and with other school groups. It is an opportunity for our girls to demonstrate that their talents extend far beyond the classroom. Their dedication, creativity and willingness to work together reflect the kind of young women we are proud to nurture at St Andrew High School for Girls. As they develop their skills and take ownership of their contributions to school life, they are helping to shape a stronger, more vibrant and inspiring school community,” Richards said.
The production will also showcase the talents of performing arts groups: the SAHS Choir, Drumming Ensemble, Wind & String Ensemble and special guest, Immaculate Conception High School’s Dance Society.
Richards added, “By creating spaces for students to express themselves, collaborate and take on new challenges, initiatives such as Dance Xplosion help reinforce the role of the performing arts in developing confidence, discipline, leadership and a sense of belonging”.
The organisers are inviting members of the public to support the young performers by attending the production and experiencing the creativity and hard work that have gone into preparing for the showcase.
