In defence of the holy word
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I write in regard to an article published by your newspaper by Mr Michael Abrahams on November 20, 2018. With great noticeability the Holy Bible has been attacked, assaulted, criticised with much aggression from many since its compilation.
We recognised vividly that this compilation of books is called the "Holy Bible". Holy: meaning "Perfect or flawless" by the American standard dictionary. Let me clarify a few gross, misleading, and spiritual unenlightment of my friend.
In Scripture when God had ordered the destruction of a nation or people one must understand the following background in mind. God had chosen the nation of Israel to be a witness to the world. The people that lived in Canaan were not ignorant of the true and living God but rejected Him like many today.
God is just and merciful. God is a judger of sins. So it is for us all to understand the principles and ways of God and abide by them. If there an issue with the Holy Bible it may very well be due to our deliberate hold to sin and defiance of God.
