Bad mind is a disease, and it is curable

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I would like to draw attention to this disease that plagues our country – bad mind. Abad-minded person is jealous of others and wishes for their ruin. Just like any other disease it has stages– from mild to severe, with severe being the deadliest of them all. The cause is usually unknown.

There are so many instances that we can relate to where we are either a victim of it, heard about it, read about it or, worst case, be the perpetrator. For far too long, our society has been plagued with this disease; it needs to be eradicated so people can strive fairly.

In the workplace, bad mind manifests itself with no reasonable cause, but in this hypothetical scenario, Sasha has a straight nose, brown complexion an is hourglass-shaped, while Felicia has a broad nose, dark complexion and barrel-shaped. She feels as though there’s a bad vibe which, clearly, she has created in her mind, mild or moderate badmind syndrome (MBS). When it’s not acknowledged or treated like any disease, it persists and spreads through the whole body, leading to the next stage, severe bad mind syndrome (SBS).

The most common of type of SBS, we call them ‘frenemies’. Two friends, A and B, in pursuit of job opportunities overseas – one got through with their visa, while the other didn’t. SBS manifests itself and friend A plots and causes harm to friend B, the one that got the visa. But my question is, if A harms B, will the visa be transferred in his name?

Love is the cure, but for many persons love is sex and it does not exist anywhere else. Hugs, kisses, and ‘I love you’ are expressions some children never experienced from their parent or guardian. Does this mean that the parent or guardian does not love the child? However, there is an ongoing cycle from their parent, who did not express or taught them how to.

Parents and guardians should tell their child that they love them – give them a hug, kiss them, and teach them what it is to love and be loved.

Fathers, do not let society dictate that you cannot hug your son and tell him how much you love him.

There are so many scriptural references of love, like 1 Corinthians 13. If bad mind is contracted, there’s no place for love.

Just as how we need vitamin C to build our immune system, we will need ‘vitamin L’ as the prophylaxis for MBS and SBS. Stay immune against bad mind. Let God’s love dwell in you, it will eradicate bad mind.
