NWC workers on strike

Workers of the National Water Commission (NWC) in Kingston are on strike.
There are fears that this could further impact water delivery already restricted by the current drought.
The workers are upset over the changes being made to their health insurance policies without adequate discussions involving their unions.
One disgruntled NWC employee said workers are upset because their monthly premiums will increase but their benefits will remain the same.
This morning, some of the workers chained the gates at the Marescaux Road offices of the NWC.
It's understood that workers at the NWC's Corporate Office in New Kingston have also stopped working.
