Footprints: Junior Clarke - Still mourned after nine years

Lloyd Clarke and Elene Gordon gave birth to Junior Anthony Clarke on March 20, 1981.

Junior was affectionately called 'Lawple' in his Rivoli, where he lived for 25 years before his death nine years ago today.

He was fun, caring and understanding. His mother misses him dearly.

Junior had two brothers and one sister - Jermaine, Joseph and Andrea - whom he adored. They grew up together and lived like siblings do; they disagreed, but they always made up. Junior had two nieces - Daviann and Mickayla - and one nephew, Tommy.

Tommy remembers him as the uncle who was a father to him.

"He taught me everything I know now and it's been nine years, and seems like just yesterday," Tommy reflected.

"He was always smiling, and that's what I loved and remember about him," his nephew recalled.

He was the father of Julian Clarke and Junior Clarke Jr. He would take them anywhere he went.

Though he did not get to see them grow up, he made the short time he spent with his children memorable as he did everything he could to care for and protect them.

He enjoyed playing football and cooking various Jamaican dishes, but his favourite was mackerel and rice. He managed to start a cookshop in his community.

Junior was killed in his community on November 17, 2006 and his family continues to mourn his death today.
