Bunting says security forces are in control in crime fight
The National Security Minister, Peter Bunting, is seeking to assure Jamaicans that he and the law enforcement bodies are in control of Jamaica's crime situation.
However, he is admitting that it is not easy for the security forces to control crime especially because some of the factors influencing the violence are socio-economic.
Meanwhile, Bunting is appealing for more Jamaicans to help the security forces keep Jamaica safe.
The police are on the brink of recording at least 1,200 murders for this year or 20 percent more than last year.
The Opposition Jamaica Labour Party has criticised the government for its response to the crime situation, asserting that murders tend to rise when the People's National Party is in power.
