Tourism ministry plans to invest in Trench Town development

Ministry of Tourism says it will be investing in Trench Town in a bid to increase the tourism offerings of Kingston.

The inner city community was home to musical greats such as Bob Marley.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett says he intends to put the community high on the agenda when he meets with major cruise lines at the Seatrade Conference in Florida in March.

The minister says there is plenty of opportunity for Trench Town, largely because of its available space.  He says art, for example, can become a centrepiece of the community's physical surrounding and appeal.
