JPS says shortfall in power generation forced loadshedding in some areas

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) says a shortfall in its electricity generating capacity caused some customers to be without power last evening.

In a release issued last night, the JPS said it had to initiate loadshedding in some areas.

The affected parishes include: Kingston, St Catherine, St Elizabeth, Hanover and St James.

As a result, customers were urged to conserve power to reduce the impact of the shortfall.
