All Hands On Deck: President of Toronto’s Caribbean Chinese Association (CCA), Clifton Li (fourth left) and his family, were all smiles as they participated in the ribbon cutting exercise to signal the dedication of a new building to house the students and teachers of Riverside Basic School in Kingsvale, Hanover. The CCA, working in partnership with Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation and Food For The Poor (FFP) Canada, not only funded the construction of the new school building, but representatives also participated in its construction from July 12-14, 2017. Li and his family returned to the school on October 26 to dedicate the building and to deliver school supplies to the over 50 students registered. Excitedly witnessing this momentous occasion as well were (from left) Rev Glenroy Clarke, chairman of the Western Regional Missions Council (WRMC); Rev Delroy Harris, school board chairman; Mikhail Hansle, project officer at FFP Jamaica as well as Beulah Pryce (third right) principal at the institution, other representatives of the WRMC, and students.
