Duppy Flim ... was shot dead in a shoot-out with the police in September last year.

The Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA) is reporting that it has revoked the gun permit of the St Thomas businessman whose licensed weapon was taken from slain wanted man Marlon ‘Duppy Flim’ Perry.

Perry died in a shoot-out with the police at a St Thomas guest house in September 2017.

Four guns including the businessman’s weapon were retrieved from him.

FLA CEO Shane Dalling, speaking on RJR’s Hotline Thursday said the agency was not satisfied with the businessman’s explanation for losing his weapon and so a decision was made to revoke the permit.

Dalling could not say whether any charge has been brought against the businessman.

Contacted this afternoon, the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit said it could not immediately provide any information on the matter.

Shortly after the incident, a police investigator had told The Star that the police did not have a basis on which to charge the businessman who reported that he handed over his weapon to the gangster under duress.
