2000 pounds of ganja seized in St Elizabeth, man in custody
The police in St Elizabeth are reporting the seizure of a large quantity of ganja which has an estimated street value of $8 million.
A man remains in custody in relation to the seizure.
The police say on Monday night about 7 o’ clock a police team was conducting an operation on the Hall main road in the Barbary Hall district when the driver of a bus, who was the sole occupant, was signalled to stop.
He complied, the bus was searched and 38 knitted bags containing rectangular parcels with compressed ganja were seen inside the bus, according to the police.
They say the drug weighed a total of 2000 pounds.
