A 45-year-old St Catherine mother charged for allegedly taking her 14-year-old daughter to the home of a 60-year-old, where she was allegedly sexually molested, was refused bail on Friday in the parish court.

The man was also denied bail.

The woman and the man are charged with grooming of a child, trafficking, conspiracy, aiding and abetting, sexual touching, and misprision of a felony.

They were further remanded to return to court on February 10, 2026.

Allegations are that between June 1 and November 22, 2025, the woman conspired with the man and took her daughter to his dwelling, where he touched her inappropriately.

It is further being alleged that the man gave the teen girl $34,000, which she then allegedly gave to her mother.

The matter was brought to the attention of the Spanish Town police, which launched an investigation.

The girl’s mother and the man were subsequently arrested and later charged.
