The police are reporting that 18-month-old Akelia Patten, who was abducted on Monday in St James, has been returned.

The police say she was dropped off at a medical facility in the parish by unknown individuals about 10 o' clock this morning.

They say she is now in the safe custody of the police and Child Protection and Family Services Agency.

The police had reported that about 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Akelia and her mother were walking on Humber Avenue in Montego Bay in the parish when they were accosted by two men armed with handguns who exited from a black 2010 Toyota Voxy.

They then took the child.

The police further said that the mother escaped injury and then filed a report.
