Policeman found guilty for rape, abduction of St Thomas woman
Police constable Craig Williams has been found guilty for the 2012 abduction and rape of a woman in St Thomas.
Williams, who was assigned to the Protective Service Division, was convicted of the offences of rape, illegal possession of firearm, and forcible abduction in the St Thomas Circuit Court on Monday.
He is to be sentenced on November 15.
Williams had pleaded not guilty to all counts on the indictment when he appeared before the court on Monday, October 4.
The court was told that the incident happened in December 2012.
The court heard evidence from the complainant, three civilian witnesses and two police personnel when the Crown closed its case on Wednesday, October 20.
A guilty verdict was handed down by the court on Monday, October 25.
