St Elizabeth police make $3.3 million ganja bust, seize gun and ammunition
The St Elizabeth police are asking for the help of the public in their probe into the seizure of about 800 pounds of ganja, a firearm and ammunition near the parish capital, Black River.
The police say the seizures were made during separate operations on Monday and Tuesday.
In the first operation on Monday, the police say a Central Road, Black River location was searched and .22 cartridges totalling 109 were seized.
A day later during an early morning anti-narcotics operation in Parottee Beach, 17 knitted bags containing ganja, one boat, two boat engines and seven barrels of gasoline were seized.
The police say the drugs, weighing approximately 828 pounds, has an estimated street value of $3.3 million.
Meanwhile, also on Tuesday, one 9mm pistol was seized in Burnt Savannah, St Elizabeth
No arrest was made in connection with any of the seizures.
The St Elizabeth Police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist in their investigations help.
