Dunkirk under curfew following fatal shooting

A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in a section of Dunkirk in Kingston after at least seven people were shot, one fatally, in the community on Tuesday afternoon.

The curfew began at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday and will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The boundaries of the curfew are:

EAST: Along North Avenue from Cumberland Avenue to West Avenue.

WEST: Along Upper Elletson Road from Windward Road to Cumberland Avenue.

NORTH: Along Cumberland Avenue and Lincoln Avenue from Upper Elletson Road to North Avenue.

SOUTH: Along Windward Road from West Avenue to Upper Elletson Road.

During the hours of the curfew, all persons within its boundaries are required to remain within their premises for 48 hours, unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.

An infant boy is among those hospitalised following the gun attack inside the Michael Manley Market.

One person was killed in the shooting.
