Haitian orphans to arrive in Jamaica tomorrow
Fifty-nine disabled Haitian children are reportedly to arrive in Jamaica from Haiti tomorrow.
The children who are currently under the care of HaitiChildren, a non-profit which caters to abandoned, orphaned and disabled children in Haiti, will be received by Mustard Seed Communities and transported to its Jacob's Ladder home in St Ann.
It is understood that the children, approximately 20 of whom are wheelchair-bound, will be accompanied by 13 Haitian caregivers some of whom are bilingual.
Two Haitians, reportedly already living legally in Jamaica will also assist Mustard Seed in addressing the language barrier.
It is understood that Alliance Francais and the Ministry of Health will also provide support to Mustard Seed.
Jacob's Ladder already houses scores of adults with disabilities.
