Book Fairy Festival JA gets under way
The Book Fairy Festival JA, described as a whimsical celebration of literature, creativity, storytelling and wellness, kicks off today through to July 28, 2024, at The Summit in St Andrew.
The Book Fairy Festival JA is a three-day immersive family-friendly event designed to inspire a love for reading and wellness among children and adults alike.
Shanique Sinclair, also known as ‘Shanz the Book Fairy’, is the founder and curator of The Book Fairy Festival. She believes that the event will change the reading landscape and quality of life in Jamaica as the event grows.
“The goal is to create a literary haven, fostering a passion for reading and wellness that positively impacts mental and emotional well-being, ultimately contributing to Jamaica’s socio-economic climate. The Book Fairy Festival brings the magic of books to life through interactive activities, author chats, and creative writing and wellness workshops. It is a day dedicated to highlighting the power of imagination and the joy of discovering new stories through literature.” Sinclair said.
