Update | Convict on the run sentenced to 18 years in prison
The man who escaped custody today in downtown Kingston was sentenced to 18 years in prison in his absence.
Anthony Williams, otherwise called Pops, of an Allman Town, Kingston address, was recently found guilty of illegal possession of firearm and assault at common law.
Sentencing was handed down in Gun Court by Justice Calys Wiltshire.
Before escaping, Williams, 22, was already serving time in prison.
In April 2022, he was sentenced over 12 years for illegal possession of firearm and over 14 years from wounding with intent.
Meanwhile, a police manhunt remains under way to capture Williams.
His attorney, Kymberli Whittaker, is appealing to Williams to turn himself in.
