Uber driver detained following firearm seizure in downtown Kingston

A 39-year-old Uber driver was arrested on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon in downtown Kingston on Saturday night.
About 8:30 p.m. police personnel reportedly stopped and searched a Honda Accord motor car driven by the suspect.
During the search, a nine millimetre Browning pistol affixed with a magazine was discovered.
The driver was arrested.
The Kingston Central Criminal Investigations Branch is probing the matter.
