Two men charged for breaking into car and stealing money
Simple larceny and malicious destruction of property charges have been laid against two Kingston men for breaking into a car and stealing a pouch containing money.
They are 22-year-old labourer Christian Plummer of Rum Lane and 27-year-old Adrian Lewis, a medical record officer of Georges Lane, Kingston.
The incident happened at a business establishment along Upper Waterloo Road on Friday, January 24.
Reports from the Half-Way Tree police are that about 12:30 p.m., a man securely locked his motor vehicle in the establishment’s parking lot and went inside.
He returned to his vehicle moments later and realised that the vehicle was broken into and his pouch, which contained $300,000, was removed.
The man reported the matter to the police and both men were held during an operation later the same day.
Plummer and Lewis were subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session in the presence of their attorney.
Their court date is being finalised.
