JCF probing allegations of police misconduct in viral video involving TikToker Rosalee
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is reporting that an investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding a police operation at the home of popular TikToker June Rosalee Dixon and how a video of Dixon in a state of undress was posted online.
The JCF says it takes the allegations of misconduct regarding claims of the unauthorised recording and distribution of a video of Dixon in a compromising position seriously.
The probe is being conducted by the Criminal Investigation Branch and the Inspectorate and Professional Oversight Bureau, which are tasked with determining the facts surrounding the incident.
“The ongoing investigation will be conducted with the utmost seriousness, and any necessary corrective action will be taken based on its findings,” the JCF said in a statement on Sunday.
The incident arose from a police operation that took place at Dixon’s home early yesterday morning.
It is alleged that Dixon, who was in a state of undress, was video-recorded during the operation.
The video subsequently appeared on social media shortly afterwards.
The incident has reportedly left the TikTok star embarrassed and in mental distress.
Following the incident, Dixon posted a video in tears, calling for the authorities, including Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness, to look into the matter and take action.
The JCF says that it is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
“Any conduct that falls short of these standards will be addressed in accordance with established procedures.”
“We remain dedicated to upholding public trust and ensuring that all members of the force adhere to the principles of ethical policing and respect for human rights. We ask for the public’s patience as due process is followed.”
