The Island Traffic Authority says an issue which led to its inability to provide fitness certificates at three of its depots on Thursday has been resolved.

It said the disruption at the Swallowfield, Spanish Town Road, and Spanish Town depots was due to an "unexpected" shortage of the specialised paper required for printing the certificates.

It said the three service hubs experienced high levels of traffic leading to a rapid depletion of the document supply.

"We are pleased to announce that the issue has been resolved, and Certificates of Fitness are now available at all affected locations. The Island Traffic Authority remains committed to delivering reliable and efficient service and will take steps to prevent similar disruptions in the future," the Authority said.
