The Crown has withdrawn its case against two St Catherine men charged with unauthorised possession of ammunition.

Anthony Johnston and Ajani Martin were charged after the police allegedly seized two rounds of ammunition from them.

It was alleged that in June 2024, the police conducted a search at premises in Gordon Pen, St Catherine, when the two illegal rounds were found.

However, on Friday Acting Senior Parish Court Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle, was told in the St Catherine Parish Court that the Crown could not established a prima facie case against the men.

"The Crown would have a challenge to prove control of the rounds by the defendants," the clerk of court said.

The matter was subsequently withdrawn due to insufficient evidence.
