St George’s College hosts second ‘Knight’s Dialogue’ in 2025 lecture series
St George’s College has announced the second staging of its 2025 Lecture Series, taking place on September 23 at 2 p.m. in the school’s Abe Issa Auditorium on campus.
The featured speaker will be Philip H. Wong, esteemed alumnus and CEO of Deltana Enterprises, Inc, a prominent United States (US)-based group of companies in the field of architectural hardware distribution.
Wong, a graduate of St George’s College, brings to the series a compelling story of innovation, perseverance and global enterprise. Born in Tahiti and raised in the foothills of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains, Wong’s journey has spanned continents and industries, from aerospace engineering to hospitality, and ultimately international business.
After earning his degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, Wong played a key engineering role in the development of iconic commercial aircraft such as the Boeing 747 and Airbus A300. He later returned to Jamaica to lead major operations at National Continental Corporation before moving to the US, where he successfully revived a family-owned restaurant in Miami, garnered acclaim from Time Magazine and celebrities alike.
Today, Wong leads Deltana Enterprises Inc, headquartered in Doral, Florida. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a nationally recognised brand, distributing premium hardware products across the US, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
“We are honoured to welcome Mr Wong back to St George’s College, not only as a distinguished old boy but as an inspirational figure whose life exemplifies the values of excellence, adaptability and enterprise,” said Margaret Campbell, principal of St George’s College. “His journey will no doubt resonate with our students and the wider community.”
This session is the second lecture in the series of three, under the theme, ‘Pioneers of Tomorrow: A Knight’s Dialogue’. The lecture series was designed to empower youths by igniting and reviving their boundless potential. The sessions are aimed at inspire them to dream boldly, think creatively and act courageously. The event is open to students, faculty, alumni and the public. Seating is limited and attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
