ACCM to host online forum to examine Christian vote ahead of general election
With general election approaching, the Association of Christian Communicators and Media (ACCM) will, on Sunday, July 27 at 6 p.m., host an online forum to examine voting trends and impact within the nation’s Christian community.
Based on available census, 69 per cent of the Jamaican population identify as Christians. With declining levels of voter participation in the electoral process, the ACCM hopes that the forum will examine the rate of voter apathy within the community and identify and dissect the issues that matter to this massive, and often silent constituency, according to the association’s president, Jenni Campbell.
Acclaimed pollster Don Anderson, retired media executive Kay Osborne, along with churchman and newspaper columnist Peter Espeut are slated to present convincing arguments as to the factors affecting the Christian community and how they matter going into the general elections.
The forum will be accessible to members of the public via Zoom and YouTube platforms.
