Man held while scrapping stolen Probox charged
A man who was among three individuals held by the police in Bog Walk, St Catherine, while scrapping a car that was stolen from a yard in Vineyard Town, St Andrew, was charged on Tuesday.
Fabian Adams, 28, otherwise called ‘Pops’, of West Prospect district in Bog Walk, has been charged with simple larceny, receiving stolen property, and malicious destruction of property.
A court date is being finalised for him.
Reports from the Elletson Road police are that around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, a man parked and securely locked his Toyota Probox motor car before retiring to bed.
Around 5:00 a.m. the following morning, he went outside and discovered that the vehicle was missing.
A report was made to the police, and an investigation was launched.
At about 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 4, a police team conducting an operation in West Prospect, Bog Walk, discovered three men dismantling the stolen vehicle.
The men reportedly ran upon seeing the police.
The lawmen gave chase and managed to apprehend Adams.
He was taken into custody and formally charged on Tuesday, July 22.
