St Ann man charged for fatal stabbing
A 22-year-old St Ann man who intervened in a fight and fatally stabbed a man has been charged with murder.
Sanjay Hull, otherwise known as ‘Dudus’, a labourer of Maida district, was charged on Wednesday.
Dead is 28-year-old Asauni Sterling.
Reports from the Alexandria police are that about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, an argument developed between Sterling and a man in the community.
During the confrontation, Hull intervened, brandished a knife, and inflicted stab wounds to Sterling’s abdomen, according to the police.
The injured man was assisted to hospital, where he died while being treated.
A report was made to the police, and Hull turned himself in to the police in the company of his attorney on Monday, August 18.
He was charged based on an eyewitness statement and a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney on Wednesday, August 20.
His court date is being arranged.
