Police announce traffic changes for JLP mass meeting in MoBay

The police have advised they will be instituting a number of traffic changes to facilitate the Jamaica Labour Party's (JLP) mass rally at Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay in St James.

The traffic changes will begin taking effect from 10 p.m. on Friday and will end at 5 a.m. on Monday.

The following roads will be affected for the entire period:

- Sections of Sam Sharpe Square that allow vehicular traffic from St James Street onto Market Street.

- The intersection of Church Street and St James Street.

- The intersection of Lawrence Lane and St James Street.

Roads to be affected from Saturday 10 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.

- From St James Street and Corner Lane to prevent vehicular traffic into Sam Sharpe Square.

Roads to be affected from Sunday 7 a.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.

- The intersection of Union Street and Long Lane.

- The intersection of Union Street and Orange Street.

- The intersection of Orange Street and Market Street.

- The intersection of Church Street and Long Lane.

- The intersection of Church Street and Orange Street.

- The intersection of Market Street and King Street.

- The intersection of Church Street and St. Clavers Avenue.

- The intersection of St Clavers Avenue and Creek Street.

- The intersection of St James Street and Creek Street.

- The intersection of Harbour Street and South Street.

- The intersection of Union Street and St James Street.

- The intersection of Corner Lane and St James Street.

- The intersection of Orange Street and Union Street.

- The intersection of Orange Street and Corner Lane.

- The intersection of Market Lane and Orange Street.

- The intersection of Church Street and St Clavers Avenue.

Alternative Routes

- Motorists are advised to travel along Barnett Street to Howard Cooke Boulevard.

- From Orange Street to Paradise Rowe to North Street, straight unto Meagre Bay Road to

Harbour Street and onto Howard Cooke Boulevard.

Parking

Persons attending the public meeting will be allowed to park in the following areas:

a. The Transportation Centre at Creek Street.

b. The Municipal Car Park at Harbour Street.

c. The Car Park at Harbour City.

d. Along Harbour Street.

e. In the vicinity of City Centre.

Motorists are being asked to obey the directives of the police.
