#JaVotes2025 | Pryce confident as voting gets off to a smooth start in St Catherine East Central
People's National Party (PNP) candidate for St Catherine East Central Raymond Pryce was oozing with confidence when The Gleaner news team caught up with him in the PNP stronghold of Lakes Pen in the parish.
Pryce told The Gleaner that voting has been proceeding without incident in the constituency.
He said all of the polling stations in the constituency opened on or around 7 o'clock this morning.
Pryce said the JLP's attempts to cut off Lakes Pen from St Catherine East Central and place it in the constituency of St Catherine Eastern did not materialise.
"We are seeing active polling here in the full East Central St Catherine, not the two-thirds of East Central St Catherine that such man had wanted," Pryce said.
Pryce is going up against the JLP's Alando Terrelonge who is seeking a third term in Parliament.
Terrelonge won the seat in the 2020 election with 6,372 votes, giving him a comfortable margin of 2,002 votes over Pryce.
