People’s National Party (PNP) president Mark Golding is not expected to face any immediate challenge to his leadership following the close of nominations for the posts of president and vice president of the party at midday Friday.

PNP General Secretary Dr Dayton Campbell says only Golding was nominated for the post of president and he will therefore continue to serve unopposed.

He says for the four vice president posts, four nominations were received.

They are Mikael Phillips, member of parliament (MP) for Northwest Manchester; Ian Hayles, MP for Western Westmoreland; Natalie Neita Garvey, MP for North Central St Catherine; Norman Scott, Chairman of the St Catherine Municipal Corporation.

Campbell says with sufficient nominations received for the available positions, there will be no requirement to hold elections.

Senator Donna Scott Mottley reportedly opted not to seek re-election.

Campbell expressed appreciation for her service to the party stating that "Comrade Scott Mottley has served with distinction in the role over the last several years and played a pivotal part during the election campaign. The PNP acknowledges and thanks her for her outstanding service and commitment to the movement."

The party will convene its two-day National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on October 4–5, to be followed by the annual regional conferences and the election of regional officers. The calendar of activities will conclude with a one-day private session of the Annual Conference on November 30, 2025.
