Man arrested after loaded gun seized at home in Mavis Bank
A man was arrested by the police and a loaded gun seized at his home in Mavis Bank, St Andrew this morning.
The police report that about 10:00 a.m. members of the St Andrew North Police Division conducted a search of the man’s premises and found a Tarrus 9mm pistol with and a magazine affixed contained two 9mm rounds in his room.
He was arrested and taken to the Mavis Bank Police Station pending further investigation.
This seizure brings to 55, the number of illegal firearms recovered by the division so far this year.
Data show that 35 firearms and 358 assorted rounds of ammunitions were seized in 2024 compared to 55 firearms and 460 ammunition in 2025.
